I was so excited when Dan & Katie got in touch with me about shooting their wedding, I’ve known them both since secondary school and I just knew it was going to be such a fun filled day! I arrived at The Moonraker for bridal prep and could already see all of Katie’s rustic touches beginning to be set up throughout the venue.
While the girls were all getting ready, the stunning florals and signage from Violet & Ivy arrived and I was told Dan would soon be arriving with his groomsmen in a Camel jeep.
Dan & Katie were treated to the sunniest day in August! A ceremony full of emotion followed by an afternoon and evening of mixing and mingling with their nearest and dearest. It was such an honour to capture their special day!

HOW DID YOU MEET?
Dan and I met almost 8 years ago. We were both out with friends and we met in a local pub ‘The Crown’ in Devizes. This is where Dan 4 years later asked me to marry him.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE YOUR WEDDING DATE?
The wedding date was an easy decision. Dan and I both wanted a summer wedding and what better than a bank holiday weekend.
HOW & WHY DID YOU CHOOSE YOUR WEDDING VENUE?
Dan and I both wanted a venue which was local for us and our guests, but also a venue where we could have both the ceremony and the reception. Plus rooms for us and our guests to stay. The Moonraker was the perfect place. It ticked all out boxes and fitted with our outdoor/rustic theme.
DID YOU HAVE A WEDDING THEME?
Our wedding theme was rustic. Colour scheme was pinks with a touch of green for the natural look.
WERE THERE ANY PERSONAL OR MEANINGFUL TOUCHES?
The personal touch for us was keeping the rustic theme throughout. Natural decorations and wooden touches. The main personal touch was our favours, these were handmade bbq seasoning pots. We are big on our bbq’s and flavour!
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE PART OF THE DAY?
Getting married of course! The walk down the aisle to finally meet each other and say our vows.
ANY MEMORABLE OR FUNNY MOMENTS ON THE DAY?
It would have to be the speeches.
YOUR FIRST DANCE SONG?
Perfect by Ed Sheeran. This was actually a song we danced too at our engagement party, so it meant a lot to us.
ARE YOU GOING ON HONEYMOON?
We went for a little break away in Devon at a lovely Shepard’s hut.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE ME AS YOUR WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER?
We wanted that personal touch and knowing you already made us both feel comfortable and relaxed. We also loved your work, the photographs you produce are stunning!
ANY ADVICE OR TIPS FOR OTHER COUPLES CURRENTLY PLANNING THEIR WEDDING?
Stay calm, enjoy it! The planning may feel like it takes forever, but take it step by step, don’t rush. It’s true what they say, the days flies by and it’s over so quickly. Enjoy the little things!
