My studio… Is officially OPEN!

Ahhh! It still doesn’t feel real to say out loud!

I’ve had my home studio on my vision board for the best part of the last four years. So this really is a pinch me moment! – MANIFESTED! It took a little longer than estimated to have it finished and ready to open. In my head it was going to be finished within two weeks of being built! But, with two littles at home I realised quite quickly I was being rather optimistic! Instead, a few months after having the studio delivered it is now open! June is my birthday month, so what better month to officially open as well!

Why a studio?

Since I started my photography business I always had this urge deep down to dive into the world of newborn photography alongside photographing weddings. Once I had my two beautiful babies and after a few requests for newborn photoshoots, I knew that adding my studio to my business was the next step in the growth of my business. Inspired by life… Becoming engaged introduced me to the world of weddings. Then becoming a mother has given me a newfound appreciation for maternity and newborn photography.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve always understood the value and the sentiment of maternity and newborn photos. However, living my first pregnancy, giving birth and then experiencing post partum (with the ever famous fourth trimester) all during a global pandemic, meant the ‘normal pregnancy experience’ I’d envisioned, was all of a sudden taken away. Lockdown. No maternity photos or leaving the house for professional newborn photos. No one allowed to even visit and take some phone snaps. This is the tiniest little blip of time, blink and you’ll miss it they say. By not being able to experience the excitement of taking my newborn baby for their photoshoot and not being able to have those newborn photos captured within the first couple of weeks, really makes me appreciate exactly how valuable these photos really are! (And how quickly they grow and change!)

What’s the vibe?

My photography studio is an all White, timeless and classic maternity and newborn studio using natural light. My studio is just 30 minutes from the City of Bath and is located in Melksham, Wiltshire.

With a selection of luxury maternity dresses in my client wardrobe, to your hot beverage of choice, my baby-led newborn photoshoots are designed to work with you and your baby for a relaxed experience.
