“Rebecca is always so welcoming and calming even among the chaos of a cake smash. My youngest is particularly strong willed and is not one for sitting still for pictures but this didn’t phase Rebecca at all and we got some absolutely gorgeous pictures to celebrate her first birthday. Her creativity was amazing, altering the shoot to what my little one wanted to do when she decided the cake was of no interest to her, I cannot thank her enough for the beautiful memories captured.”

I just love when my newborns come back for their first birthday photoshoot! It was so lovely to see little Delilah again! Let’s just say she wasn’t very into the ‘smash the cake’ portion of her cake smash session! But that was ok as we were still able to get those shots that captured her cheeky little personality and some first birthday portraits prior to getting messy with the cake. The most important thing I tell all of my parents when they come in for a cake smash is to stay open minded! Some children just love to get messy, others not so much!! – These sessions are really a pot luck of what we will get, but if you trust the process of the session, even if it may seem like ‘we can’t get the photos’ trust me, we absolutely can! – It was also so much fun doing my first cake smash videography! I’ve embedded the YouTube video to the end of this blog post, session films really do help to bring the photos to life! – Enjoy : )
