Sharing this beautiful 8-week baby session today from my Westbury, Wiltshire photography studio.

Mum was worried she’d missed the newborn stage and didn’t want to miss having professional ‘newborn‘ photographs altogether. It’s something I hear quite often, but I always reassure parents that it’s never too late. Every stage is worth remembering, and these weeks pass by far quicker than we ever expect. So better late than never!!

I absolutely loved the calm, light and airy feel of this session. Keeping everything simple is always my aim, with soft neutral tones, baby wrapped comfortably in a plain white swaddle and, most importantly, lots of time in Mum’s arms. I find babies are happiest where they feel safest, which creates such a relaxed atmosphere and beautifully natural photographs without forcing complicated poses or constantly stopping to resettle them.

Mum wore one of the cream dresses from my studio wardrobe, which worked perfectly with the soft styling I love throughout all of my sessions. Using my studio wardrobe means you don’t have to think about finding an outfit before your sessions and ensures every gallery feels timeless and beautifully cohesive, without the stress of having to find an outfit beforehand.

Big sister made this session even more special! There’s something so lovely about capturing those first professional portraits together, keeping everything relaxed and letting those little moments unfold naturally rather than trying to make toddlers perform for the camera.
